Towards that goal, a frequently overlooked yet essential aspect is to ensure broad access to and knowledge of modern AI/ML tools also in communities where access is not yet as well established. In order to address this gap, we are very excited and proud of the AI Incubator 2027 that we have devised and launched together with our experienced partners at Ersilia and H3D Foundation. Ersilia is a private non-profit foundation devoted to building a collaborative, active learning culture for facing urban challenges, local and global alike. And the H3D Foundation was established for securing, building and retaining skilled African scientists within innovative R&D.
The program aims to support scientists based at an African Institution in applying AI tools directly to their own therapeutic discovery for Global Health projects. No prior experience with AI/ML is needed.
The AI Incubator is designed to be an annual program, with the first round running from February to July 2027. Application deadline: 19 October 2026
