Everything comes to an end, but we have the feeling that the first AITHYRA #AIforLifeScience Symposium can only be the beginning of a conference series.
On the third day the top speakers of our symposium were Denes Hnisz, Mikko Taipale, Matthias Mann, Erika DeBenedictis, Miquel Duran Frigola and Nathan Benaich. Nathan Benaich was also part of a panel discussion with Aishwarya Parthasarathy, Greg Vladimer and Georg Winter on how to best build AI-first spinouts.
Let us thank again all speakers, chairs, panelists, poster presenters and participants for their input and discussions in areas, such as
- From Sequence to Structures – AI and the Protein Universe
- One Cell at a Time – AI and the Single-Cell Revolution
- Cracking the Code – Genomics, Chromatin and RNA Regulation
- New Models & Data Sources
- Molecules by Design – Strategies for AI-Driven Drug Discovery
- Life in Motion – Condensates, Cellular Dynamics, & Beyond
- Making a Dent – Industrial, NPO & Business Perspective
Our Keynote Speaker, Nobel Laureate Frances Arnold, gave an inspiring lecture on Innovation by Evolution: Bringing New Chemistry to Life. Because of her encouraging words towards our Starting PIs and AITHYRA in general, we have great respect, but also tailwind and motivation to enter the next phase and now implement our research ideas.
We are also grateful for the support and congratulations of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, President Heinz Faßmann and Vice-President Ulrike Diebold, and the Directors for the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation, Stephan Formella and Marc Wittstock who participated in the symposium.
And of course, we thank all the helpers and friends from AITHYRA and CeMM who made the conference a smooth and pleasant event. We can only recommend the House of Industry and the KHM as professional and amazing event locations.
During the #AIforLifeScience Symposium we went from fundamental research to applied science, from computational to life sciences, from academia to industry with the overall goal to CONNECT. We sincerely hope to stay in touch and to have fostered new ideas and collaborations!
